101-AD were appointed to deliver the interior architecture for GRIND’s Manchester location, translating the brand’s established identity into a new urban context.
The design balances GRIND’s recognisable aesthetic with clean lines, refined materials, and a confident use of colour, with a response to the character of the Manchester setting. The space is carefully zoned to support the rhythm of day-to-night use, operating seamlessly as both café and bar.
Particular attention was given to materiality and detailing, with robust finishes, bespoke joinery, and integrated lighting creating a cohesive and durable environment. The result is a space that feels distinctly GRIND, while grounded in the fabric and energy of Manchester
