Designed in collaboration with 101-AD, the Borough Yards boutique draws on the heritage of traditional apothecaries, expressed through a contemporary balance of translucency, colour, and form.
Responding to its context behind Borough Market and beneath the railway lines of London Bridge, the design is informed by movement and flow. A singular sculptural shelving element, inspired by the curvature of the tracks above, runs through the space, shaping both circulation and zoning while creating a dynamic customer journey.
In contrast to the visual intensity of the surrounding market, the interior offers a calm, minimal environment. A restrained palette of warm tones, terrazzo, acrylic, and charred timber references the site’s industrial character, while maintaining a clean, contemporary identity.
The result is a considered retail space that balances heritage and modernity, translating the apothecary concept into an immersive and spatially driven experience
